Design and Technology Project Year 11 
DRAGON FLAME: Chinese Zodiac inspired lighting solution, by utilizing the aesthetic forms and colour of a dragon. This project was produced utilizing laser cut clear acrylic and bent to form its curved edges. Aluminium tubing is used for support with polished nuts and bolts securing the latch to the table. Red, orange and yellow spray paint is applied over cutout patterns resulting a reflective and vibrant shine. The head of the lamp is detachable from the docking unit secured by an interlocking joint. Once detached the dragon head can be used as a single module for uses like a bed side lamp and can be hand held for directed illumination for dim spaces. 


Innovation Tower by Zhaha Hadid 
The building hosts the Hong Kong Polytechnic Design faculty. With its glass facade and metallic panels circling around the building, the Innovation Tower is a unique and distinctive in its site environment representing the concept of innovation and forward thinking in Architecture. The exterior concrete base tapers the building in contours to the ground level in smooth curves, integrating the building in its landscape. The use of concrete extends from the exterior into the interiors with smooth concrete walls and stair pathways, merging the interiors and exteriors of the building to encourage circulation. Light flows in thought the glass facade and is brought to other floors through an open balcony environment. 


 
Christmas Display at Hong Kong IFC Mall 
Produced using fabric and LED lighting forming the shape of a Christmas tree, the display item allows people to interact and engage with the environment. These tree shaped coverings ascend and descend by pulley cable systems the bring the trees up or downwards, enclosing and surrounding those below. The public are welcome to sit or lie underneath the kinetic display, with a camera that takes snapshots from an interesting high viewpoint perspective. This kinetic Christmas tree display creates a immersive and unique experience, enlightening the holiday season by allowing people to appreciate and enjoy the environment.
